Michael Galen, is a professional dancer and musician, born and raised in Portland with a performance style focusing on the intersections of dance, percussion, music, and lights. Because of his versatility, he utilizes jazz, hip hop, soul, Cuban, and Brazilian aesthetics to produce high-quality, forward-thinking work and is drawn to highly rhythmic and social, dances and cultures.

Michael’s current work with Rejoice! Diaspora Dance Theatre and New Expressive Works allows him to create contemporary folklore as a choreographer and performer. As a teaching faculty, he teaches programs at PCC, PHAME, MAC, KCLC, and is a founding member of POPgoji.
