Chicago-born poet and emcee, Mic Crenshaw, fell in love with music at a young age while living in Minneapolis. After escaping violence from white supremacist gangs, he moved to Portland and became a respected artist in the Northwest, where his community efforts have had local and international impact.

Mic co-founded GlobalFam which creates and maintains a computer center for disadvantaged youth in Burundi and partners with Education WithOut Borders, which supports education, music, and art initiatives in Portland and beyond. Furthermore, he is the Lead U.S. Organizer for the Afrikan HipHop Caravan and tours annually throughout Africa.

Mic recently released a new project entitled "EarthBound", which explores out modern social condition through the lens of ecological responsibility, economic violence and the sociopathic tendencies of our political landscape.
